"Rather Do Powerful Side Roles Than Uninteresting Lead" - Jimmy

By: Neena | July 31, 2016

Jimmy Sheirgill, who has yet again delivered a perfect performance as the honest good cop in Madaari, feels that the length of a role doesn't matter, as long as it's interesting!

Soon to be seen in a mutli-starrer titled Happy Bhaag Jayegi, this actor, while talking to a publication stated, "I would rather do a supporting role, which is powerful and leaves a mark, than take up a lead role that is uninteresting. Just because I have played lead characters in films earlier doesn't mean I will turn down supporting roles. I always follow my instincts. It feels good when people still talk about my performances in films such as Munna Bhai M.B.B.S (2003) and Tanu Weds Manu (2011)."

Jimmy is currently busy shooting for his upcoming Punjabi flick Jindua, starring Sargun Mehta and Neeru Bajwa. He has often impressed audiences with his performances - whether it was with the role of a tough cop in A Wednesday, a betrayed husband in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster or an abandoned lover in Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

Ask him if people are more accepting of his talent in the Punjabi industry, and he says, "Even though I do one Punjabi film a year, people enjoy it, as I am from Punjab. My equation with the audience there is different. They see me as someone who has taken Punjabi cinema to another level."

Though I don't deny this but I'd also confess that it's not just the acting but his never ageing looks and smile that has our Punjabi hearts miss a beat!

His next Bollywood project is the Arbaaz Khan starrer Yea To Too Much Ho Gayaa.
