Veteran actor Padma Shri Om Puri left for his heavenly abode on 6th January at his residence in Mumbai. Earlier, it was being said that the cause of his death is a massive heart attack but his post mortem reports hint at something else!
Mumbai police has registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) on Saturday evening in connection to Om Puri's death. The reason for doing so is uncertainty about the cause of death, whether it was natural or involved 'foul play'. When police arrived at Om Puri's residence on Friday, he was found lying on the floor with a sharp injury on his head.

It is said that on the day of his death Puri had returned home after shooting for a Punjabi film and wanted to meet his son Ishan. His ex-wife Nandita and Ishan
were out for a party and so the meeting could not happen. Producer Khalid Kidwai, who claimed to have been with the deceased actor till a few hours before his death while talking to Oshiwara police said, "He wanted to meet his son Ishan on Thursday evening. So we (Kidwai and Om Puri) went to Trishul building where his ex-wife Nandita lives with Ishan but were unable to meet them as both Nandita and Ishan had gone for a party. Om Puri then had an argument over the phone with Nandita and asked them to come soon as he wanted to meet his son," read the statement
"He poured a drink in his glass and waited for almost 45 minutes at Nandita's flat. But when they did not turn up, he took the glass and liquor bottle and started drinking in the car. After finishing the drink, we left."
Though the cause of his death is 'unknown' but what we are sure of is that there's a big void in the industry after Om Puri's death. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police has interrogated the domestic help and driver.
Om Puri was born in Ambala on October 18, 1950 in a Punjabi family.
