On October 12, 2012, Chamkila's wife (Gurmail Kaur) allegedly gave Randhawa’s father the rights to make a biopic about her husband, Amar Singh Chamkila for which she had also received Rs. 5 Lakh. There was no set timeline for making the biopic.
