A Canadian NRI has accused Gill Media Studios, a Mohali based film company of duping crore of rupees in the pretext of making a film.
Sohan Singh Gidda, the petitioner accusing the firm has stated that he wanted to make a 3D animation film on the life of Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa, Commander-in-chief of the Sikh Khalsa Fauj, the army of the Sikh Empire. However, it has been alleged that the contract which he had signed with the company had ended in March, earlier this year. The company duping him gave only 2-3 trailers and some stills. The complete film was not made and given. In fact, the company is neither returning the money nor making the film. The case on the same was registered in NRI police station in Mohali three months ago.
Furthermore, calling it a ‘blatant fraud’ and ‘bullying’, Sohan has alleged that despite paying Rs. 12 Lakh extra than the budget, owners of the company are demanding more money from him. Seeking justice from Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, he has alleged NRI police station officials of inaction and demanded an immediate investigation and appropriate action against the accused.
