Ahead Of Punjab Polls, Another Case Filed Against Sidhu Moosewala

Punjabi singer turned politician Sidhu Moosewala who will be contesting for the Mansa seat in the upcoming assembly elections has been caught up in another case against his song ‘Sanju’. The case was filed by advocate Sunil Kumar Malhan in the Chandigarh District Court.

The Congress candidate, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu alias Sidhu Moosewala is already a controversial singer as he has been blamed for inciting violence and promoting gun culture among the youth of today. As the Punjab Assembly polls are fast approaching, this case can affect Moosewala’s campaign direly. According to advocate Malhan, the ‘295’ singer sang the song to deliberately tarnish the image of lawyers and released this song with wrong intentions.

Not only this, the advocate had earlier sent a legal notice to the singer on July 15, 2021 however, it was ignored. The case has been brought up again and apart from demanding legal action against Sidhu, the money earned from the song 'Sanju' was also sought to be deposited in the Advocate Welfare Fund of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana as compensation.
