Pop star Mika was recently seen performing at the Safaigiri Award function in New Delhi and the current tension between Indo-Pak had its toll on the event too!
Crooning his hits --Mauja hi Mauja, Mast Kalander, Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag and the ecstatic crowd welcomed him and played the perfect audience. Speaking at the second edition of Safaigiri Awards function in New Delhi, Mika asked Pakistan to stop supporting terrorism. He said that people of Pakistan were not our enemy, but their leadership needed to change its policies.
He further added that it was important that the neighbours understand the message of peace otherwise face the consequences!
Mika appealed for peace between India and Pakistan. "Peace should prevail in both India and Pakistan. We don't have any problem with Pakistani people. But, if someone is not ready to mend their ways, we need to make them behave," Mika said.
Singh was deeply touched by the story of the NGO workers that he pledged a donation of 2 lakhs to the organisation. He was so moved by one of the waste collector's work that he touched feet during the award function. On sanitation, Mika said spelt out a rule for Safaigiri.
He said, "Stop chewing paan and tobacco. If we can check this habit, every building will appear more beautiful."
