Air hostess turned actress Vidya Malvade began her career modeling after which she was chosen by ad film director Prahlad Kakkar for some advertisements. Her acting debut was with Vikram Bhatt's ‘Inteha (2003)’ which failed at the box office. After a string of unsuccessful movies and several advertisements, she acted in ‘Chak De India’ in the year 2007 playing the role of a goalie and captain of the Indian women's national hockey team. After the success of ‘Chak De India’, she also acted in films like ‘Kidnap (2008)’, ‘1920: Evil Returns (2012)’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara! (2013)’ and ‘Yaara Silly Silly (2015)’, to name a few.
But just like many other well-known Punjabi actors, before entering films or television, Vidya too partook in a Punjabi song. It was none other than Satwinder Bitti’s ‘Mar Gayee Tere Te’.
