Over the years, Punjabis have been making the entire nation proud in various fields time and again. Now once again in another instance, Rishi Nagar has been appointed as the Senate member of University of Calgary in the department of higher education by the Alberta government. He will serve at this post till June 30, 2024.
Let us tell you, Rishi was born and brought up in village Shankar, Jalandhar who completed his studies from Guru Nanak University, Amritsar. He started his career as a lecturer in Arya Collge, Nurmahal where he was later promoted as the Principal. He has even worked as lecturer of English language for five years at Indira Gandhi Open University. Thereafter, he has been associated in the media field and writes articles for Hindi, English and Punjabi dailies. His article ‘Nagarkhane Di Tooti’ was also published over the years and even now he keeps writing political satires. In 2009, he and his got family settled in Surrey, Canada, where he started off as a radio host and now also serving as news director.
Apart from his work, Rishi has also been involved in a number of charitable activities, including various charitable organizations such as the Calgary Police Service Anti-Racism Action Committee, the Calgary Anti-Racism Committee and the Board of Directors of the Saddle ridge Community Association.
