Lately, Bollywood has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. It’s association with drugs is one of them. Though demand and supply of drugs in Bollywood has been there for many decades. With some old stories doing the rounds about Sanjay Dutt’s Drug Addiction to Fardeen Khan charged with cocaine possession in early 2000 and most recent Deepika Padukone who had also come under the scanner for being a part of Drug based WhatsApp Group.
Now, another name that has joined the list is of veteran actor Dalip Tahil’s son Dhruv who has been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police under Section 27 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Reportedly, his name cropped up after police caught a drug peddler, Muzammil A. R. Shaikh on April 20 and recovered 35 gms Mephedrone from him. Later the police had examined his phone and the chat between Shaikh and Dhruv was discovered.
It has also been reported that Dhurv was in touch with Shaikh since 2019. WhatsApp chats allegedly suggested that Dhruv had contacted him for obtaining drugs, the official said. Not only this, he was also allegedly found to have transferred money to Shaikh's bank account at least six times. An ANC team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Datta Nalawade was conducting further probe, the official added. Dalip Tahil refused to comment anything on the matter. However, further inverstigations are underway in the drugs case lodged by the ANC Bandra Unit involving Shaikh.
