44-year-old television actor Sameer Sharma has allegedly committed suicide at his home in Mumbai. Sameer was found hanging from his kitchen ceiling on Wednesday night. He stays in Neha CHS building, situated at Ahinsa Marg in Malad west.
According to Malad police, Sameer had rented the apartment in February this year. While on around during night duty, the watchman of the society saw the body and alerted the society members. Looking at the condition of the body, the police suspect that the actor committed suicide two days back. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
"A case of accidental death has been registered and the body has been sent for autopsy," said senior inspector George Fernandez, Malad police station.
Originally from Delhi, Sameer moved to Bangalore after completing his studies. He worked for an ad agency, an IT Company, and Radio City Bangalorebefore shifting to Mumbai to follow his passion for acting. His TV debut was marked with STAR One's Dil Kya Chahta Hai (as Nitin) after which he was seen in many shows including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Left Right Left, Four, Veeranwali, Jyoti, Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon ki, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, and also played a supporting role in the 2014 Bollywood film Hasee To Phasee.
Apart from acting, Sameer has also done several ad campaigns and modeling assignments.
