Coming as a major relief to the stalled Punjabi film & music industry in the wake of the outbreak of COVID -19, the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has allowed the resumption of the shooting of films & music videos in the state.
It is estimated that more than 2 lakh people in Punjab are associated with the entertainment industry and the livelihood of a huge section of people was affected badly with shootings getting stalled due to the lockdown.
While the state CM, Captain Amarinder Singh has issued a notification to all Deputy Commissioners of the state to give permission for shooting of film & music videos, official details are awaited on the conditions imposed for resuming shooting in this period of “Unlock”.
It is worth mentioning here that Maharashtra government had already given its go-ahead of resumption of film shoots but with certain conditions in force. These include shooting to take place with only 33% crew members at the sets, make-up artistes wear Personal Protection Kits (PPEs), and strictly adhering to maintaining personal hygiene.
