Balveer Mann, the favourite disciple of legendary Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak popularly known as ‘Kalian da Badshah’ breathed his last in a Ludhiana hospital on May 22. The unfortunate news of his demise has sent shock waves among the connoisseurs of Punjabi music.
Following the footsteps of his ‘Guru’, Mann was devoted to the Punjabi culture and regaled the audience with his unique style of singing folk music. Balveer’s brother Surjeet Mann stated that while he never indulged in cheap style of singing, he always endeavoured to sing folk & traditional songs elevating rich Punjabi culture.
Reportedly, he was admitted to CMC hospital Ludhiana after a spike in his blood pressure and blood sugar level and passed away two days later.
