Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the biggest actors in the world. He is one of those rare actors, whose films like Titanic, Inception, The Great Gatsby, Romeo Juliet, Shutter Island, The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, Catch Me If You Can, The Revenant and most recently Once Upon Time in Hollywood have all enjoyed worldwide popularity. Counted among the top 100 most influential people in the world, Leonardo is also a known environmentalist. His Instagram posts are all about environmental changes and global warming.
In his recent post on Instagram, he pinned in Guardian news which is about clear visibility of Himalayan ranges from Punjab due to less pollution, owing to the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown.
The actor quoted: "From The @Guardian: People can see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas from Punjab, India after pollution levels dropped due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Locals say that it's the first time in 30 years that the mountain peaks have been visible nearly 125 miles away."
This isn't the first time that Leonardo has expressed his thoughts about the climate of India. Even in the past on many occasions he had talked about the environmental situation in India. He had even visited India a few years back. Though his support to Yogi Sadhguru was not taken positively by many Indian environmentalists, that didn't stop him from expressing his opinions about the country.
This time, his Punjab reference caught our attention and in the ongoing negativity due to COVID-19, we found our reason to rejoice. How about you? Did this post bring about a positive change in you today?
