Tech Update: You Can Now Buy JioPhones From MobiKwik!

Reliance Jio has got into collaboration with Indian mobile wallet major MobiKwik to sell JioPhone through the latter's app.

Speaking on the association, Bikram Bir Singh, Business Head at MobiKwik said, “We are proud to become the first mobile wallet to sell Jio phones in India. Users can book their phone in four easy steps and avail great benefits as well.”

On successful payment, users will get a confirmation SMS from Jio with transaction details and another SMS with store details from where they can collect JioPhone after identity verification.

Recently, Reliance Jio introduced new tariffs for JioPhone users with offers like 1GB data with free calls at Rs 49.

Jio is now likely to launch a cheap Android GO operating system based 4G smartphone in partnership with MediaTek.

How to book Reliance JioPhone on Mobikwik

First you need to click on “Recharge” icon on the homepage. Then, click on “Phone Booking” icon under recharge and bill payments category.

Next, select JioPhone under “Phone Booking” and enter your the necessary details. Finally, review the transaction amount and registered mobile phone number on Phone Booking Payment page and continue to make successful transaction.

On successful payment, users will receive a confirmation SMS from Jio with transaction details and another SMS with store details from where they can collect the phone after identity verification.

Reliance JioPhone: Specifications, features

Reliance JioPhone is a feature phone with internet and VoLTE capabilities. The smart feature phone comes with a 2.4-inch QWVGA screen with 320 x 240 pixels resolution. It runs on KAI operating system and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor by Speadtrum coupled with 512MB of RAM.

Reliance JioPhone has 4GB of built-in storage and supports expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card. For photography, it sports a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone can also record videos.

The availability of Reliance JioPhone on Mobikwik comes shortly after chipset company MediaTek disclosed that it was working with Reliance Jio and Google to launch an Android Go smartphone in India.

Reliance JioPhone also comes with a voice-based browser. Google in December last year announced it will be launching a special version of its digital assistant, Google Assistant, for Reliance JioPhone.
