Throwback: When Varun Sharm Aka Choocha’s Punjabi Debut Went Unnoticed!
Varun Sharma aka Choocha from Fukrey series is now doing extremely well in Bollywood. This boy, who was not supposedly the lead face of Fukrey series , outshined everyone else with his innocence , his dialogue delivery and his smile.
But did you know that this 'choocha' has already done a Punjabi movie?
Yep!
It wasn’t that big but you should know about it right? Does Yaaran Da Katchup ring a bell?? It is the same movie in which the popular Punjabi singer Harrdy Sandhu was seen making his acting debut.
Varun played an important role in the movie but could'nt make it a big hit like his present blockbusters. Directed by Abhay Baiju Chabbra, Yaaran Da Katchup was released in 2014.
The movie had an ensemble stat cast with veterans like B.N Sharma, Rana Ranbir and Jaswinder Bhalla. The lead actresses Yuvika Chaudhary and Anita Hassanandani were glamorous enough to add the right amount of masala to the project but even that too much for the film. Rather, during those days both these actresses were pretty popular and this was their debut Pollywood project.
'Yaaran Da Katchup' had a storyline that was an out and out comedy. It revolved around three friends who got together after seven years in Pattaya ( Thailand ) and there comic series of events. With artists who have great fan following, veterans for the comedy element and a story which was novel back then, this movie still failed to leave an impact on our minds. All this because the director didn’t execute it well. We could see the boys dancing around in Chandigarh when they were supposed to be in Pattaya. But yes, we want this immensely talented guy to come back in Punjabi film industry and entertain us like he has been doing in his Bollywood movies.
Varun would soon be seen with our very own turbannator Diljit Dosanjh for Rohit Jugraj’s next project titled Arjun Patiala, which would be a cop based movie and will be shot in Punjab. According to sources, Varun will be seen as the lead with Diljit. Raabta actress Kriti Sanon is the leading female face of the movie. It is not the first time that Varun and Kriti would share the screen, they both have worked together in Shahrukh Khan’s Dilwale before.
Well, we can’t wait to watch him in Arjun Patiala but he really needs to come back to the Punjabi industry .
