Proud to be a Sikh 2 has almost reached its release date  and the story that the makers have selected is extremely senstive yet different than what we keep watching. It is not about operation blue star, not even about the 84 riots, then what exactly is it going to showcase??

'Proud To Be A Sikh 2' is based on many interconnected stories of what recently happened in Punjab..rather the worst that could happen, the desecration of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji. The incident happened in 2015 and had many repercussions. The year was marked as the black year in Sikh History and Diwali celebrations were put down by Sikhs globally to express their displeasure.

The incident was neither justified or tolerable.

Releasing on 29th of this month, 'Proud to be a Sikh 2' would be seen in Delhi and Punjab. The SGPC and Censor Board have only permitted it release in these two cities. The overseas permission is still pending.

We talked to one of the makers named Aman Gulati, who is also the member of Shan-e Khalsa, and he said, "We are very positive about the response. We had a special screening for SGPC and censor board and they were pretty happy. Our motive is to educate the youth about what had happened. The movie is based in a college where desecration of Shri Guru Granth Sahib happens. Later we have included events like lathi charge and firing, incidences that had really happened back then. This movie would also move the audiences spiritually and make them realize how we haven’t been able to incultate the teachings and values of the sacred bani in our lives."

Aman also added, “Though the first movie didn’t get great response but not looking at the commercial aspect we still worked on this one to educate the youth. Also, we have tried and promoted the movie as much as we could this time and as a result we have got better screens than the last time."

The movie stars Amritpal Singh Billa, Atvinder singh, Gursimran kaur, Sunny Gill in titular roles. It is directed by Satdeep Singh and written by Dr. Rupinder Singh.
