Amritsar Plays Host to HyperCITY Budding Chef JUNIOR Contest Finale
HyperCITY Retail Ltd (India), one of the largest hypermarket chains in the country today concluded the first leg of ‘Hyper Budding Chef JUNIOR Contest’ at Amritsar, the golden city of India.
Popularly known for a variety of street food, Amritsar played the perfect host to Hyper Budding Chef JUNIOR Contest – a unique platform curated for young chefs to promote their culinary interest and showcase their kitchen skills.
Organised in association with FOODFOOD Channel, Celebrity Chef Shailendra Kekade (Celebrity Chef and renowned food stylist across F&B industry) judged the junior chefs dish up their favourite recipes amidst large gathering at the HyperCITY store. The chef was also seen sharing his lesser known techniques, use of exotic ingredients, and his secrets from while engaging with the junior chefs in the most exciting and simple manner.
A number of 100 young talented chefs were shortlisted from over 250 by HyperCITY through online registrations on Facebook page and offline at the HyperCITY store – Amritsar. The dishes were judged based on creativity, authenticity and presentation.
Commenting on the occasion Mr. Manoj Jain, VP- Marketing, Visual Merchandising & Loyalty at HyperCITY Retail (India) said, “We at HyperCITY have always reinforced the importance of culinary interest among home chefs. With the great success seen by Hyper Budding Chef last year, we had observed the continued interest amongst Junior chefs who accompany their parents. Realising the need to create an individual platform for them, we curated ‘Hyper Budding Chef JUNIOR’ for young budding chefs who have great passion and interest for cooking. Through this initiative, we wish to encourage kids with interest to create exotic and innovative food items and work towards taking the next step in the culinary world”.
Owing to the great success that The Hyper Budding Chef JUNIOR received, HyperCITY will take the Hyper Budding Chef JUNIOR Initiative to the next level across India. The finale of Hyper Budding Chef JUNIOR Contest is going to happen at HyperCITY Stores across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Noida, Bhopal, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Amritsar.
The winners of the Hyper Budding Chef JUNIOR wins the following:
- A chance to participate in Food Fiesta, a Fun Food Day where-in the winners can put up their own stall. Winner will also get a chance to conduct a cooking workshop for other aspiring chefs. This will help them to become a cooking star. All this will happen at the HyperCITY store (under parent’s guidance) and winner will not be charged any amount for this.
- Top three shortlisted winners (out of all HyperCITY stores) will get a chance to appear on FoodFood channel (Food and Lifestyle channel).
- The winner chef will also get a chance to intern with the Head Chef at Club Mahindra Resort.
