Gippy Grewal has just signed a biopic on the life of Subedar Joginder Singh, the receiver of the highest gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra for single handedly crushing waves of Chinese attack at Burma, Tawang in the Indo-China war of 1962.
Directed by Simarjit Singh, this one will feature Gippy Grewal and Aditi Sharma in pivotal roles and the makers claim that it will feature the biggest ensemble cast from the Punjabi films and music industry.
The shoot of this biopic shall commence next month in Rajasthan and it is slated to release on 15th August 2018.
According to a Bollywood website Gippy stated that he wasn’t even aware of this son of our soil till he was offered the biopic. The script moved him and his role is a challenging one. He even had to lose 10 Kg weight and then gain 30 Kg weight.
"It’s history that we’re delving into, so we have to be doubly careful about facts and the way we present it. It’s a massive responsibility to play the part well, to blend in the right amount of emotions given the current state of affairs in the sub-continent," said Gippy.
'Subedar Joginder Singh' is produced by Sumeet Singh of Unisys Infosolutions.
