Made under the banner of Sahaj Productions, 'Saavi - Ek Anokhi Dulhan' depicts the truth behind female barter system which is still prevalent in our society. It's music was released in Chandigarh this week and on this occasion the producer of the film said that 'Saavi' is based on the tradition called Batta-Satta, a female barter system, which is still prevailing in some parts of our nation, like Chamba, Himachal Pardesh and also by Muslim Gujjar Society.
The film is being directed by Rajeev Kumar, who has directed an award winning film Nabar.
The producer, Bhanu Sharma, said, "In times when we talk about going to Mars, our women are being ill treated under this sort of barter system. "
The story has been penned by Jagdish Sachdeva, who is a renowned writer and director from Amritsar. Saavi is based on his play 'Saavi'. The play was rated best in the last 65 years amongst the plays shown and translated in English by the Punjabi Academy Of New Delhi.

The music and lyrics have been given by Ravi Sheen and Anamik Chauhan. The film has seven songs in totality and have been sung by prominent Bollywood singers. The starcast includes Jaspinder Cheema, Ashish Duggal, Nirmal Rishi, Manni Boparai, Daljinder Basran, Ambreesh Saxena, Damanpreet Kaur, Rajinder Dhaliwal, Tejinder Pal Dheer, Kalra Ji and Mahabir Bhullar.
The director Rajeev Kumar has written the screenplay and the cinematography is done by Satya Parkash Rath. The dialogues have been written by Balwinder Singh Grewal and Aaryan Saxena. Saavi is produced by Bhanu Sharma, Ved Yadav and Ranjit Singh.
