Satinder Sartaaj's debut movie has been much awaited, especially by his Punjabi fans and followers and now that the trailer has finally come afloor, the enthusiasm amongst everyone is overwhelming!
If you haven't watched it yet, then here it is for you:
Evident from the trailer, The Black Prince promises to be an eye opener for many who, till date, have only heard and read tiny bits of information that has come their way as historical evidence.
Maharaja Duleep Singh's poorly documented yet powerful chapter will confront us with the tragic life of a king who was, at first, stolen from his kingdom, separated from his mother, converted to Christianity, brainwashed, and then left to die a lonely death. It was this Maharaja's struggle that inspired the Sikhs to continue fighting for their freedom until India regained it's independence from British Imperialism in 1947, and Sikh kingdom was divided into India and Pakistan.
Acclaimed Punjabi singer-poet Satinder Sartaaj marks his acting debut in this movie and is joined by an esteemed international cast including Shabana Azmi, Jason Flemyng, Amanda Root, Keith Duffy, David Essex, Rup Magon and Sophie Stevens to name a few.
A Kavi Raz directorial, The Black Prince is a captivating visual presentation that is sure to give goose bumps to all those who love reliving the chapters of history on the big screen.
