Remember Ambarsariya which got Diljit the best actor award at the first ever Filmfare awards Punjabi last year??
I am sure you do.
Ambarsariya was a 2016 musical thriller in which Diljit was seen as a spy who was surrounded by beautiful girls including Monica Gill, Navneet Kaur Dhillon , Lauren and his boss Gul Panag. The movie was a Tips product and got announced in the year 2015 but saw a release one full year after it's announcement. Kumar Taurani had again called Mandeep Kumar to direct this movie of Tips Industries Pvt.Ltd. Mandeep Kumar is the director of the film, ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ which starred Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza in the lead roles.
The reason behind the shift and the delay was Diljit’s Bollywood debut movie Udta Punjab. Diljit had to shift and re-arrange his schedule because of Udta Punjab, which is why Urvashi could not be finalised for the movie.
Confirmed sources claim that Urvashi was the first choice for the role of Jasleen Kaur, which was later bagged by Navneet Kaur Dhillon. She couldn't do it because of shift in schedules and the delay in release of Udta Punjab. She was very happy to announce this film on her Facebook page. She posted, “I’m super delighted to announce my next film opposite punjabi Superstar Diljit Dosanjh to be produced by Tips Industries pvt ltd.”
Urvashi won Miss Universe India 2012, after which she started her Bollywood career with opposite Sunny Deol in film ‘Singh Saab the Great’. Post this Urvashi appeared in Yo Yo Honey Singh’s recent super-hit track ‘Love Dose’. She’s the only youngest Indian girl to win maximum number of beauty titles in the history of beauty pageants till date.
Would she have done a better job than Navneet in Ambarsariya??
Well...we wouldn't really know till the time we see her perform on the Punjabi screens. There are a lot of times when well know faces from b-town land up in Pollywood but go back home very soon because the audience fails to accept their Punjabi enactment. It's not easy to impress Punjabis..haina!
For now, Navneet has been away from Pollywood and her last presence was seen in Mauritius where she was shooting for her film opposite Gippy Grewal, which has been titled 'Ni Tu Jatt Di Pasand' as of now. On the other hand, Urvashi has just burnt down the big screen with her extra HOT performance in her latest release 'Hate Story 4'. This film marked the b-town debut of the Punjabi actress Ihana Dhillon.
