Neeru Bajwa is one actress who needs no introduction, especially in Punjabi industry. She has been ruling the Punjabi cinema for quite many years now and we all know that at one point of time casting Neeru for a movie was in itself a guarantee that the movie will emerge as a winner.
After donning the producer's hat for Channo in the year 2016, Neeru stepped into the world of direction with her sister's debut movie - Sargi (2017), which was also produced by NB Films but this one couldn't do wonders at the box office and we all know why.
Talking less about the movie and more about this actress, Neeru is pretty active on social media nowadays but there were times when social media didn't exist and for Neeru those were her struggling days.

1)Neeru's first Bollywood film was opposite Dev Anand
You read that right buddy! Neeru's debut Bollywood movie wasn't Vivek Oberoi starrer Prince but the one opposite Dev Anand Sahb, titled - Main Solah Baras Ki.
Directed and penned by Dev Anand, this Bolly flick starred Dev Anand, Jas Arora, Deepak Tijori, Neeru Bajwa, Supriya Karnik and A. K. Hangal. It got released in the year 1998 and bombed at the box office.
2) Neeru has also done Hindi TV Serials
In the year 2010, Neeru played a character called Rinku in a super popular TV series called 'Hari Mirchi Laal Mirchi'.
The serial which was being telecast at 9 p.m. every Thursday on Doordarshan's national network was at the top of viewer ship ratings. before moving on to Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani on Zee TV...
followed by Jeet on Star Plus and then Guns and Roses on Star One. She also appeared in the television series CID (CID Special Bureau) as fiance of ACP Ajatshatru and was also seen in the drama Bone Marrow.
3)Neeru Failed Her 10th Exams!
Neeru Bajwa couldn't pass in her class 10th examination and she made this shocking revelation during an interview. She admitted that she had little interest in studies and was always inspired by the glamour of Bollywood, so she moved to Mumbai to fulfill her dreams.
But this also shows that if one is talented then nothing can stop him/her from achieving success in life.
4)Neeru's Punjabi film Jatt & Juliet was a one of it's kind
Neeru paired opposite Diljit in a romantic comedy titled Jatt & Juliet, directed by Anurag Singh. It was released to theaters on 29 June 2012. Upon release, the film became a massive blockbuster at the box office and also won multiple awards at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2013 including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress.
The film also spawned a sequel the following year, titled Jatt & Juliet 2 featuring most of the same cast and crew. The sequel also broke records at the box office, and ended up becoming the highest-grossing Punjabi film ever. It was remade in Bengali in 2014 as Bangali Babu English Mem.
We've even heard that Jatt & Juliet 2 will also see a remake soon.
5) Neeru was once contesting a beauty pageant
Neeru Bajwa, before stepping into the main frame, even contested for the Miss India Canada pageant. Though she couldn't win the pageant but she definitely got herself a runner-up title.
it was only after this attempt that she coaxed her dentist father to allow her to move to India to pursue her dream of stardom.
6)Neeru Bajwa has had her bitten casting couch experience
During her initial days in Mumbai, Bajwa met with various casting directors. Her meetings had a common thread – each suggested that she needed to go to bed with them in exchange for a role.
"I remember one casting director said, You have to be willing to do whatever it takes,'" Bajwa said while talking to website. "I nodded, but then he kept asking, Do you know what I mean?'"
7)Neeru's first acting break paid her $75
Through word-of-mouth, she got her first acting break in a Punjabi music video. It paid $75.
Bajwa developed her portfolio, getting another music video and auditioned for car commercials, but still struggled to win over directors. She had already got her tickets to return back to Canada but 2 days before her departure, she got a call from the team of Astitva and things changed for her overnight.
8)Neeru got paid a hefty sum for Prince
After making her Punjabi film debut with Manmohan Singh's Asa Nu Maan Watna Da, Neeru got an appearance in another Punjabi film. After a setback that saw Bajwa flee a set where she felt unsafe, a director arranged a meeting with Kumar Taurani, whose Tips Films is one of India's leading movie production companies.
Bajwa signed an eight-film contract starting with Prince and collected a $12,000 paycheque. (kithe $75 kithe $12000!)
9)Neeru Bajwa's original name is Arshvir
Shocked? Don't be..there are many actors and actresses who are known by their commercial names and not the real ones.
Neeu's actual name is Arshvir Kaur Bajwa and she's now happily married to Harmikpal (Harry) Jawandha and has a cute daughter named Aanaya
10)Neeru was actually carrying an 8 month pregnancy while shooting for Channo
That's the life of an actor. Neeru's debut production starring herself and Binnu Dhillon in pivotal roles, Channo - Kamli Yaar Di, was the story of a woman who goes abroad in search of her lost husband.
Neeru was actually pregnant during that time and was seen shooting through hot and cold conditions with a full 8 months pregnancy. During an interview she even confessed that an indian salwar kameez is the most comfortable attire for a pregnant woman. :-)
11)Neeru has also done a Telugu movie
Remember the 2010 horror thriller Phoonk 2? It was a sequel to Ram Gopal Varma's 2008 film Phoonk. Phoonk 2 got dubbed in Tamil as Bommai 2 and in Telugu as Aavaham.
Neeru featured in the movie and played a character called Arushi.
