Mohali Couple Dupes Institutes, Promises Them Amitabh Bachchan's Visit!

A Kharar based couple Harry Bhatt and his wife Dolly Bhatt are being searched by Mohali police, for cheating various institutes in SAS Nagar by promising them that Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan would visit their institutions.

The couple had opened a studio and an office in the New Sunny Enclave, Kharar and the complaint actually got registered when Chandigarh based, Deepti alleged that this couple promised her a role in their upcoming Punjabi film “Ek Duje Vaste” in which Amitabh Bachchan would also appear.

In January, Harry Bhatt visited Deepti’s residence in Chandigarh and told her that a book written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, father of Amitabh Bachchan, was to be released and for this Big B will visit the educational institutions and meet the students.

The accused also signed an agreement with Dr Deepti saying that she would act as a heart surgeon alongside Bachchan who was essaying the role of an Army doctor in the film. She also alleged that these frauds had collected Rs 5.5 lakh from each institution as security money for Amitabh Bachchan’s visit from February 21 to 27.
A bank manager accomplice of the couple has also been booked.

This couple has a complaint registered against them under section 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 465 and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Harry also duped Hobby Dhaliwal of Rs 24 lakh on the pretext of giving a contract of vehicles which were to be used for film promotion. The accused asked Dhaliwal to provide 24 cars and asked him to deposit some security.
Inspector Satnam Singh, SHO Kharar (city) said, “We had received about seven complaints and have registered a case under Sections 420, 465, 467, 471 and 120-B of the IPC against Harry Bhatt, Dolly Bhatt, bank manager Yogesh Goyal and unknown persons. We are investigating the case.”
