EXCLUSIVE : We've Just Got Some Inside Scoop From The Sets Of 'Daana Paani'!
Jimmy Sheirgill is super busy in Bollywood and his power packed performances there make us crave his presence on Punjabi screens even more. He was last seen in the triangular love story Jindua starring himself, Neeru Bajwa and Sargun Mehta but since then we haven't seen him in any more Punjabi films.
A few months ago we reported that Jimmy will be seen in an upcoming flick by Taranvir Jagpal which has been titled 'Daana Paani'. The director didn't reveal much about the storyline but he did tell us a few things about the movie.
Now here's some news from the 'Daana Paani' end for all GhaintPunjab readers and trust us, no one else will tell you about it!
Daana Paani is a period drama, setup in the 60s era. The lead pair is Simi Chahal and Jimmy Sheirgill. The movie is an intense love story between a village girl, played by Simi, and Jimmy, who will be seen essaying the role of an army subedar!
We have mostly seen Jimmy play an armyman or a police official in Bollywood but now, after a long time, we would see him play this character in a Punjabi film. Jimmy was last seen playing the role of a uniformed officer in Navaniat Singh's 'Dharti'. He was seen as an Air force officer in this 2011 release.
We are really excited to see him back in the Punjabi industry and the icing on the cake is the role that he is playing in the movie. Daana Paani is scheduled to release in May 2018. The team has completed the first schedule in Ganganagar and would be shooting for the next leg in Punjab, somewhere in January 2018.
