Chandigarh MC has appointed Punjabi actress and satirist, Savita Bhatti, as the brand ambassador for the Swachh Bharat campaign. Wife of late comedian and film personality Jaspal Bhatti, Savita said that she would chalk out a plan to reach out to the people in the city for creating awareness regarding the Swachh Bharat Mission.
While talking to us she shared her excitement and future plans about this new responsibility that she's been given. She said, "It's a great honour and I'm on top of the world. I want to thank the people of Chandigarh, the MC and Chandigarh Administration."
"Thank you Jaspalji for showing me that one individual can make all the difference. This is a gift from you to me," she added.
When we asked her about her plans she clarified that her plans will not only involve herself but each and everyone from the city to make her efforts a success. She said, "All the people of Chandigarh are on my team. If you're a teacher, teach your students about cleanliness. If you're a doctor, teach your patients. If you're a religious, social or political head, teach your sangat and if you are a student then teach your parents!"
"If we're so possessive about our phones, our cars, our property and our money, then let's be possessive about our garbage too. Let's say it's my garbage and I am equally responsible as the MC to dispose it correctly," she confidently quoted.
With this mindset and immense confidence that Ms. Bhatti possesses, we're sure that soon we'll see her doing quite a lot for our city.
