Remember the movie Taur Mittran Di which released in the year 2012??
It had a bigger issue almost an year after its release.The team of Taur Mittraan Di comprised of the most elaborate starcast including Jimmy Sheirgill, Surveen Chawla, Rannvijay Singha, Amrinder Gill and Amita Pathak. A case was registered on not one but the entire team of this film and non bailable warrants were issued against them. Others included director Navaniat Singh, producer Sunil Lulla of Eros International Productions, production head Kailash Jadhav, executive producer John Cherian, associate director Amit Prashar, editor Manish More and story writer Dheeraj Rattan.
Wondering what exactly was the issue?
Moonak resident lawyer Arpinder Singh Sandhu had filed a case against this the cast and crew of 'Taur Mittran Di' accusing them of using funny words for the lawyer fraternity. He had, on September 7, 2012 filed a petition and prayed to take action against the erring actors u/s 499, 500 and 120B of the IPC for defaming the legal profession.
Taking note of continuous non appearance despite issuing bailable warrants, all had been directed to be summoned through non-bailable warrant of arrest for July 7, 2013. Earlier on April 9, the court had issued bailable warrants and had directed the Pollywood actors to be summoned by May 28 with bail bonds of Rs. 10,000 each.
Soon, one by one, all the actors and related crew members surrendered before the court and were bailed out. The case later lost it's hype but it created quite a buzz in the industry for sure.
