Did You Know: 'Bhaji In Problem' Was Not Akshay Kumar's First Punjabi Movie!
Viacom 18 landed in Punjab with a comedy movie named Bhaji In Problem featuring Gippy Grewal and Ragini Khanna in lead roles. The movie surely had all the ingredients of a hit, the foremost being Akshay Kumar coming to Pollywood but how many of you actually know that 'Bhaji In Problem' was not his first Punjabi film?
Akshay’s first ever appearance in a Punjabi movie was in a film titled 'Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya'!
.A movie which released the same year as Bhaji In Problem was even marketed in the name of Akshay Kumar. The actor also had his image on the poster.

Even we were. When reporters asked Akshay about this movie he clarified his part saying that the footage which has been placed in the movie was actually being misused.
He said that it was shot for a friend years back and contained a generic message on Indo-Pak peace. Akshay also cleared that he is not a part of the movie and they should stop using his name. Bhajji In Problem is his only Punjabi project and he is happy to endorse it.
He also mentioned it on his social media about how a free footage for his friend was misused 8 years later : "I would like to apologise to my fans, unfortunately a favour I did for a Punjabi film many years ago, has decided to abuse my honest handout & is now using me to sell their film. I would just like to clear the air, I did a favour for a late friend & shot for 3 hours for free, 8 years later they seem to think splashing my face around as if I'm the hero of the film is going to help their turn over. My part is merely a favour, I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone. But please still enjoy the film that I am hardly a part of...", stated a prominent Bollywood website.
There was a legal case filed against the makers, still the movie got released but not many actually got to know about it.
Inderjeet Singh Nikku was in the lead role.
