Long distance and Olympian Runner, Hari Chand who also won double gold medals in the Asian Games passed away at the age of 69.
Native of village Ghorewaha in Hoshiarpur district took his last breath today in the Morning. Reportedly, he was undergoing treatment at the Capitol Hospital, Jalandhar. Also Read : Kabaddi Promotor Dara Aujla Passes Away, Jazzy B Pays Tribute
Born on Apr 1, 1953, Chand won a gold medal at the 1975 Asian Championship in 10,000 metre and a bronze medal in 5,000 metres. Later, he won two gold medals at the 1978 Asian Games in Bangkok in the 5000m and 10,000m events. He also participated in two Olympic Games in 1976 and 1980. Chand was also conferred with the Arjuna Award.
