Everyone knows that the newly elected CM of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann has been associated with the creative field in the past. Having started his career as a comic artist, Mann came in the limelight with his comical audio albums. During his stint as a comedian, he did some Punjabi Films too. So, here is the list of some films he has been a part of.
Kachehri- The national award-winning film, ‘Kachehri (Court)’, had him playing the role of comic legend Mehar Mittal’s friend who sacrificed his life for him. Vijay Tandon, who had produced and acted in the film had once told us that Bhagwant Mann was so happy with the film as it was for the first time he got to fly on an airplane. Tabahi- This 1994 hit film had Bhagwant Mann in a prominent comic role. His punchline ‘Dupehar Di Roti’ became very popular among cine-goers after this film.
Nain Preeto De- ‘Nain Preeto De’, the 1995 hit film had Bhagwant Mann in the usual comedian role. From this film, his punchline ‘Phatti Pochke’ became popular.
Sukha- Released in 1996, this one was Mann’s fourth consecutive hit. By then Bhagwant Mann had become a big name and makers released an audio album of his dialogues from the film to cash on his popularity. Also Read: When Hans Raj Hans Predicted A Young Boy's Fame!
Main Maa Punjab Di- Mann had another National award-winning film in his kitty, it was with ‘Main Maa Punjab Di (1998)’ in which he brought comic relief to an emotional drama film.
Sikandara- This 2001 film had Bhagwant Mann as the lead aka the hero’s role with Guggu Gill and Yograj Singh. This one was a commercial failure film, which made him take a break from films.
In that period he worked on his audio albums, and even made his debut as a singer with the album ‘Jattan Da Munda Gaun Laggeya’. He also worked on video albums such as ‘Jugnu Hazir Hai’, ‘Bhagwant Non-Stop’, etc, which did very well and his Beebo Bhua act gained a lot of popularity. After that, he became popular nationwide thanks to the Great Laughter Challenge. After a hiatus, he returned back to Punjabi films with the following films:
Ekam- ‘Ekam (2010)’ had Bhagwant Mann in a substantial role with leading on posters with Babbu Mann and Mandy Takhar.
Sukhmani- This 2010 Gurdas Mann film had Bhagwant Mann in the dramatic comic role of an army official.

Police In Pollywood- The 2014 film, ‘Police In Pollywood’, went without a trace and by then Bhagwant Mann had already ventured into politics and almost left his artistic career to make it in the new field he had chosen.
Besides this list, he also did a film called ‘22G Tusi Great Ho’. Though the film did not get a proper release but some of its scenes got a new lease of life on social media recently, as Mann had played an aspiring politician in the film.
