This year we saw a spike in Punjabi language movies and web series, owing to the presence of OTT platforms for the same. While we have mentioned some of the best projects of the year already, here are the directors who contributed towards making better Punjabi content on OTT:

Prem Singh Sidhu

Prem Singh Sidhu, who has worked on films like ‘Kabaddi Ikk Mohabbat’, ‘Jora 10 Numbaria’ and ‘Sardar Saab’, gave us a true masterpiece aka ‘Please Kill Me’, when he began directing for OTT. Also Read: 2021 Recap: Most Popular Models Of Pollywood!

Maneesh Bhatt

‘Panchhi’, ‘Pind Chakkan De Shikaari’ and ‘Zila Sangrur’, two out of the top three OTT projects of the year 2021 were delivered by the cinematographer and director Maneesh Bhatt so obviously his name deserves to be on this list. Also Read: 2021 Recap: Top 3 Punjabi OTT Projects

When it comes to Punjabi OTT, irrespective of the abundant content, it is still new and it would take more time for people to evolve and get involved in newer, more challenging and experimental OTT projects in Punjabi cinema. So this year, sadly, we have just two names who contributed towards raising the bar of Punjabi cinema on OTT platforms and were successful in doing so!
