Bollywood actors donning a turban for their roles has become more and more popular. Actors like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan wore turbans for the first time and now even Randeep Hooda was seen shooting for a film while wearing a turban.

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda made his debut in 2001 with Mira Nair's ‘Monsoon Wedding’. After a few unsuccessful projects, a turning point in his career came when Hooda starred in the commercially successful ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010)’, and was subsequently noted for his performance in ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster (2011)’, which earned him an IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor nomination. He even won two Stardust Awards and a nomination for the Filmfare. Also Read: Do You Know About Sunil Dutt’s Work In Punjabi Films?

Earlier this year the news about Hooda shooting for a crime-thriller series which is supposed to release on Netflix. Hooda was to play the role of a gangster in the series which is set in Punjab. The project, yet untitled, is directed by Balwinder Singh Januja who has also written screenplays of films like ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ and ‘Mubarakan’. The shoot was supposed to begin in October in Punjab, which leads us to assume that it is the same project. However, this will not be the first turbaned role of Hooda as he was supposed to play the character of Havildar Ishar Singh in director Rajkumar Santoshi’s film ‘Battle of Saragarhi’. He grew out his beard, learned Sikh martial arts, and fervently prayed for the film to be made but sadly after 3 years of delay, the film got shelved.
