With newer platforms being open to streaming Punjabi content, the industry has grown not only in terms of experimenting with genres but also media formats. Now, Harper Gahunia, a Punjabi director, screenwriter and editor, is creating an Indian-American sitcom named ‘iBaba’.
The sitcom (short form of situational comedy) is an old American series format. The director, Harper Gahunia was born in Punjab and brought up in California, USA. He is known for the films he has directed including ‘Playboy’ (2018), ‘Sucha Soorma (2020)’, his most famous work ‘Babbu Maan: Hollywood (2020)’ and his most recent ‘Satta Kidnap Ho Gai (2021)’ which he has written and directed. The show is produced by M.Raj & J. Garcha under the banner of ‘Cinevillage Studios Production’. The shooting for the show has begun recently in Los Angeles, California. The director Gahunia has shared a clapboard shot as well while the caption for his post read:
