Simi Chahal Shares Health Update, Reveals She Was Diagnosed With PCOS!

Actress Simi Chahal much appreciated for her works has been perceived as a very bubbly and chirpy girl. However, she recently took to her Instagram account to make shocking revelation about her battling with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).

Simi took to her social media where she shared her photographs where she can be seen enjoying her food. In the photographs, she seems to have gained a little weight. In a long caption she shared a note where she stated that the pictures that she has shared are from March 2020after she was diagnosed with PCOS and she was put on the birth control pills. “Yes, i was definitely skeptical about the pills but as culturally instilled in us that “A doctor can never be wrong”- obviously i didn’t question her. Took them religiously for 5 months and i gained insane amount of weight (the photos above).Left the pills. But this is just tip of the iceberg”, she wrote! Also Read : Who Is Janaki Easwar? What it is?

For the unversed, let us tell you, PCOS is a hormonal disorder which causes ovaries to enlarge with small cysts on the outer edges. This basically leads affects how a woman's ovaries work. The cause of polycystic ovary syndrome is yet unknown but it is said that it involves a combination of genetic and environmental factors. It is said that there's no cure for PCOS, but the symptoms can be treated. The treatment include birth control pills to regularize periods, medication called metformin to prevent diabetes, statins to control high cholesterol, hormones to increase fertility and procedures to remove excess hair.

Well, kudos to Simi who openly spoke about the syndrome she is suffering from so that a lot of other people could also be sensitized.
