Whenever a movie is being made it is not just the lead roles but so many times it is the supporting stars who steal the show. Be it comedians like Binnu Dhillon, B.N. Sharma, Anupam Kher and several others, they have stolen the show with their performances. One of such actors is Dalip Tahil. Of course, how can we forget his onscreen presence in movies like Baazigar where he played a wicked businessman. Well, it is not just the Bollywood this talented actor has worked in a Punjabi movie also.
The talented actor had started doing stage when he was just 10 years old at his school. During his senior years he even won the prestigious Kendall Cup for the best actor in two consecutive years, first as Joseph in the play My Three Angels and again as Macbeth in Shakespeare's Macbeth. He was declared the best actor for a record third time in 1969, his final year at Sherwood College.
Dalip was born on born 30 October 1952 as Dalip Tahilramani who studied at Sherwood College in Nainital, India. After attending Aligarh Muslim University for a year, he graduated from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. It was in the year 1974, Dalip made his acting debut in Bollywood with the movie ‘Ankur’ when director Shyam Benegal noticed and offered him as part in the film. This was all about his bollywood career and let us tell you his Punjabi connection goes back to the year 2007 when he starred in the movie Sajna Ve Sajna which starred actors like Preeti Jhangiani, Bally Sagoo, Vivek Shauq, Aasif Sheikh and several others. The movie was directed by Harjinder Dhami and produced by Gurmail Dhami and Raashid Rangrez. The music was given by the sensation himself Bally Sagoo.
