How many of you know the meaning of doomna?? If you are familiar with this term then a major reason for it goes to the 2012 Super hit Punjabi flick Jatt and Juliet.

Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa and Rana Ranbir, this film was one of the most celebrated films of the year 2012 and won seven awards at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards in 2013.

Guess What! Bollywood's music director Himesh Reshammiya acquired the rights of the film and narrated the story to Salman. That’s when the latter decided to make the film in Hindi.

The female lead was offered to Kriti Sanon but apparently she couldn’t accommodate the film since she already had other commitments.

There were reports that Kriti Sanon will play the lead opposite newcomer Zaheer in Salman Khan production’s remake of Jatt and Juliet, but we now hear that Kiara Advani is being considered for the role. Kriti, at present, is shooting for Raabta in Budapest. Kiara, on the other hand, was taken under Salman’s wings right from the start of her career, as her aunt is an old friend of Salman.

Says a source, “Kiara’s aunt Shaheen Jaffery and Salman were dating when they were in their twenties. They were in quite a long relationship before they split. Salman was going to consider Kiara for a project, but this came along in the meantime and the makers opted for her.”
