Amrinder Gill Gets Honoured With Dadasaheb Phalke Award!

The cute looking singer turned actor Amrinder Gill just got honoured with the Dada Saheb Phalke Award in Mumbai today for the best actor category.


Amrinder Gill has been selected for the much appreciated role in his 2015 blockbuster Angrej. He is the only one receiving this honour in the regional film category.


The 2015 superhit film Angrej was a romantic story based in rural Punjab. Starring Amrinder Gill, Sargun Mehta, Aditi Sharma, Ammy Virk and Binnu Dhillon in prominent roles, this one was written by Amberdeep Singh and directed by Simerjit Singh.


Angrej was the second greatest hit movie of 2015 after Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji. It made ?4.05 crore (US$600,000) nett in its first weekend.  Amrinder Gill was also in news recently for bagging the first ever film to be made under Priyanka Chopra's production house, Purple Pebble Pictures.

This award ceremony has been organised by the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation.

Amrinder Gill and his film Angrej have recently won many regional awards but this one is surely something which the global Punjabis can be proud of.
