When I am stressed the only place where I find comfort is in Gurbani or simple recitation of Satnam Waheguru.
The recent song Dhan Guru Nanak sung by the trio Haripan Singh, Jaskirat Singh and Harleen Kaur was soft and beautiful. It is based on the teachings and revelations of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Our first guru had extreme belief in living a neutral life. He emphasised on ethical living with a pure soul. Honesty, according to him, is the only way to do any dealing be it business or personal relationships.
His Supreme teachings lead towards principles of distinct ideals in order to create awareness for humility and self surrender:
According to Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's verses we learn to live life with honesty, godly devotion and community service.
Guru Ji was strongly against any sort of discrimination, false rituals and superstitions. He preached gender equality and also wrote
"From her, kings/warriors are born.
From woman, woman is born;
without woman, there would be no one at all. Then Why should we call her inferior,
when it is she who gives birth to great Warriors ?"
This song has been inspired by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's preaching and the writer of this song, Devinder Singh, wishes to re-ignite the true and pure way of life amongst the fellow beings.
