Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, who is gearing up for his release Shadaa in Pollywood and Good News & Arjun Patiala in Bollywood, has bagged another project and this time it is a comedy film opposite Yami Gautam.
According to a report, the film will be directed by Aziz Mirza's son Haroon. The script is one of the last scripts of late filmmaker Neeraj Vora. The film is a sensible comedy which revolves around a couple.
Producer Ramesh Taurani confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror stating, "Yes, Diljit and Yami have given their nod to the film. It’s a fresh pairing and we are excited because both are competent actors with impeccable comic timing. It is a sensible comedy and revolves around a couple."
Further reports suggest that a teenage couple will also feature in the film for which the team is looking for new faces. Taurani stated that they need another actress for a crucial role in the film, the casting for which shall soon be locked.
The film is scheduled to go on floors this year itself in August this year. Haroon, the debutante director of this untitled project has earlier assisted his father Aziz Mirza on many Shah Rukh Khan movies like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Yes Boss and Amol Palekar's Paheli.
Diljit Dosanjh made his debut in Bollywood with Shahid Kapoor starrer Udta Punjab. Yami, on the other hand, is enjoying the success of her recent release Uri: The Surgical Strike. She has just completed the first schedule of Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer Bala to join Hrithik Roshan in China for the premiere of their 2017 film Kaabil.
