Yes you heard it right, Punjabi actress Diljott, who was in news for opting out of the Bollywood movie 'Veerey Ki Wedding' has given us a new reason to celebrate.
This actress garnered a lot of fame after featuring in Diljit’s song 'Patiala Peg' , but then she took small steps in the industry. Last year this pretty actress entered the singing line and released a few tracks like 'Tere Rang', 'Meri Maa' and 'Akh Mataka'. This new diversion showed the industry that she is multi – talented and way more than what people assume.
Diljott’s tracks did fairly well in the industry. As the best was coming her way, recently her single 'Tere Rang' got picked up by a Hollywood movie. The much talked about upcoming Hollywood movie '5 Weddings' will feature her single track. Critically acclaimed actor Raj Kummar Rao and Nargis Fakhri would be featuring in the song.
The movie 5 weddings is directed by Indian-American director Namrata Singh Gujral and produced by Uniglobe Entertainment.
Diljott will not only be lending her track but would also give a guest appearance in the movie. She was elated to share this news with us and quoted, "I am glad that this is happening. What better than the song getting featured in a Hollywood movie. I am elated that they found my song perfect for their movie. I am more than happy to re- release it with them as now it will reach a larger audience. Uniglobe entertainment is big and being a part of any of their projects is surely a big thing for me. I am happy to give a guest appearance in this Hollywood movie. I just can’t wait to see the song in the movie as one of my favorite actors Raj Kumaar Rao would be featuring in it. God has blessed me with this big break. I am thankful to him and to the Punjabi fraternity who have been supportive since day one."
The plot of the movie is pretty interesting. 5 Weddings would show how an American journalist travels to India to cover Bollywood weddings. He covers these weddings and in all this coverages what unforlds is a colorful mosaic of lost love, transgender tangles and culturural clashes, along the heartfelt journey of life, symbolized by the universal ups and downs of a wedding celebration. It is great to see that Punjabi artists are doing so well across Bollywood and Hollywood. They are increasing their horizon and showing their talent to the world.
Diljott has done a few Punjabi projects which might not be the best ones of her career but now she looks patient and wise enough to take good decisions when it comes to movies. Seems like these wise steps would take her far in the industry. We wish the best for the actress and hope that she soon signs great Punjabi projects too.
