Ammy Virk To Play ‘Harjeeta’ In Hocky Captain Harjeet Singh Tuli’s Biopic

A biopic on the captain of junior hockey team, Harjeet Singh Tuli, will hit the theaters 30th March 2018. An official announcement by the team happened on their social media accounts yesterday. Ammy Virk will be playing the lead -‘Harjeeta’.

This movie is being directed by Vijay Kumaar Arora, who had earlier written and directed Harish Verma- Neeru Bajwa starrer RSVP. This time he’s working on a more substantial project. Produced by Munish Sahni, Nick Bahl and Bhagwant Virk, Harjeeta is penned by Jagdeep Sidhu.

Munish Sahni told GhaintPunjab exclusively that the shoot of this upcoming flick shall commence in October, this year, in Punjab. They will be shooting at the Lucknow Hockey Stadium as well.

He further quoted, “Punjabi cinema required a substantial story with which the youth could connect and we decided to make this story.”

The other cast hasn’t been signed as yet but the permissions for this biopic have been taken and the pre production is happening in full swing.

Harjeet Singh Tuli is a professional Hockey player from Punjab. This midfielder represents the captain of the Indian Junior Men’s team and is the youngest member of Delhi Waveriders. He captained the Indian squad at the 2016 Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup  that went unbeaten throughout the tournament, eventually winning them a gold medal.
